‘Toss Haro, Match Haaro’ -Best memes from Rajasthan vs Mumbai match

Rajasthan Royals

Mumbai and Rajasthan played each other at the DY. Patil Stadium in Mumbai. Both teams had come into the game after having contrasting starts to their season. Mumbai had lost to Delhi in their first game while Rajasthan beat Hyderabad in their first game. Given the trend in the ongoing season, the five-time winners won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Their bowlers bowled well as they conceded only 17 runs in the first three overs and took the wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal (1). Jaiswal’s opening partner Jos Buttler changed gears in the fourth over of the innings. He hit 26 runs against Basil Thampi. Two overs later, the Men In Pink and Blue lost their second wicket in the form of Devdutt Padikkal (7) with the score reading 48/2 in six overs.

At this stage, skipper Sanju Samson (30) joined Buttler and stitched a partnership of 82 runs before the former got out to Kieron Pollard. At 130/3, Shimron Hetmyer (35 off 14) came in and added another 53 runs with the wicketkeeper-batter from England. On the other hand, the latter went to score the second hundred of his ITL career. At 183/3, the team looked to cross the 200-run mark but were restricted to 193/8, thanks to the late wickets from the Men in Blue and Gold.

In reply, the Rohit Sharma-led side scored 50 runs in the powerplay but lost the wickets of Sharma (10) and Anmolpret Singh (5). Ishan Kishan (54) and Tilak Varma (61) stitched a partnership of 81 runs for the third wicket. However, their wickets in quick succession meant that Rajasthan got back in the game. Mumbai went from 121/2 to 136/6 in the matter of three overs. Yuzvendra Chahal took two wickets in two balls but was denied a hat-trick due to a dropped catch by Karun Nair.
Mumbai went on to lose the game by 23 runs, having been restricted to 170/8.
