Mohammed Shami undergoes successful surgery

Indian pacer Mohammed Shami is currently in the UK. The 33-year-old has been troubled by injury to his heel which has seen him miss cricketing action. India’s lead pace bowler took to social media and posted a massive update.

Indian pacer took to Twitter and wrote “Just had a successful heel operation on my Achilles tendon! Recovery is going to take some time, but looking forward to getting back to my feet”.

This will be a huge boost for the massive scores of Indian fans around the world. Mohammed Shami was the best pacer during the ODI World Cup last year. He was also conferred with the prestigious Arjuna Awards for his achievements.

Mohammed Shami set to Miss IPL 2024-

In a cruel blow to the Gujarat Titans fans it is now confirmed that Mohammed Shami will miss IPL 2024. The 33-year-old hasn’t played for India since the end of ODI World Cup 2023.

It is also expected that Shami will not be part of the T20I World Cup to be held in June. Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid will lament the loss of their star pacer. India’s bowling reserves are well-stacked with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.

Akash Deep recently made his debut and impressed everyone with his pace and hostility. The likes of Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, and Umran Malik have also made an impact in the white-ball formats.

The return of Mohammed Shami is set to be towards the end of the year. India will be tour Australia for a five-match series for the Border-Gavaskar trophy. India’s fans and team management will hope that Shami gets fit in time for the tour down under.

The last two tours have been won by India with the 2020/21 tour being special. Meanwhile, India has earned a rest ahead of the final test in Dharamshala. On Monday the home team wrapped up the series against England with a game to go.

Shubman Gill and Dhruv Jurel’s stand of 72 helped India win the match by 5 wickets. With this win, Rohit Sharma became the first ever skipper to beat Ben Stokes in a Test series. England battled long and hard to make life difficult for India. The two Indian youngsters though had other plans as they won the game with ease.
