The Malaysia Quadrangular T20I Series has seen some high-intensity games as well as others where Malaysia steamrolled their opponent. All in all, it has been a great series so far with new teams getting a chance to sharpen their skills.
The next match of the series is between Maldives and Thailand. Let’s look at all the details of the upcoming game.
Match 10: Maldives vs Thailand
Maldives have played three matches so far and won just once. They currently sit at third with two points in three games. Remarkably, their last win was against their next opponent Thailand.
Chasing a score of 81, the Maldives team was able to get past it in 15.4 overs on the back of Mohamed Rishwan’s 38. Since then, however, they have lost two matches, the last one being an eight-wicket thumping by the hosts Malaysia.
Hassan Rasheed showed some character against a strong Malaysia side but none of the other players were able to perform well. Captain Yoosuf Azyan Farhath also came good with two wickets and would need to lead the team from the front if they are to win the next match.
Thailand, on the other hand, remain at the bottom and are the only team without a single win in their three matches. Their last match was against Bhutan which they lost by six wickets. They were also beaten by the host Malaysia prior to that. Thailand were really poor against Bhutan in their last game and could only make 49 runs in total. They would need to improve massively if they’re to win the next game.
