Pakistan star fast bowler Shaheen Afridi is about to return back to the cricket field in the upcoming season of the Pakistan Super League. Ahead of the PSL season 8, Afridi’s franchise Lahore Qalandars unveiled the official logo of their sports outlet. The logo was designed by none other than Afridi himself as Qalandars informed the same through their caption which read, ‘The Designer himself with the official logo of LQ sports outlet’.
However, as the post began getting traction on social media, fans began noticing the striking similarity between Qalandar’s logo and the one freely available on the internet by Adobe Stock. As fans got to know that the logo has been taken up from the internet, they began trolling the franchise for lying to its fans.
Meanwhile, Afridi is raring to go in the upcoming season of PSL as his side will look to defend their title this year. Lahore Qalandars will start their campaign against Multan Sultans at Multan Cricket Stadium on 13th February.
Recently, the star bowler was seen in full swing as he bowled to Babar Azam in the nets. Afridi looked in great rhythm as he beat the Pakistan captain on several occasions.
Ahead of the tournament, Babar was traded to Peshawar Zalmi from the Karachi Kings. The Pakistan captain had been a constant fixture in the Kings lineup for seven years and joined Zalmi as part of a major trade deal. Azam will be the captain of the Peshawar outfit this season.
Shaheen Afridi has been out of action since 20-20 World Cup 2022 final
Afridi showed his great captaincy skills as he led the Qalandars to a PSL title last year and also made vital contributions with the ball. The 22-year-old has been out of action in international cricket since the final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. The left-arm seamer suffered a knee injury while taking a catch on the boundary and couldn’t bowl after that. He had bowled a magnificent spell of 1/13 in 2.1 overs before he trod off the field.
As a result, Pakistan lost the final by five wickets and England were crowned champions for the second time in the 20-20 World Cup.
Meanwhile, Twitter was abuzz with reactions on Lahore Qalandars copying their logo. Here are some of the Tweets:
