I was part of a meeting where few people started discussing about match-fixing: Hasan Raza

Hasan Raza is the owner of cricket academies in Islamabad. Raza recently appeared on Nadir Ali’s podcast, where he discussed his match-fixing scandal.

Talking about it Hasan said, “I was part of a meeting where few people started discussing about match-fixing, I felt that there was something wrong going on, I refused to be part of that tournament, then, my videos were leaked after 6 months when I came back to Pakistan, I was about to play UAE cricket league then my scandal came to the light, when I was in India, few people approached me who were offering different deals about match-fixing, I came to know what they were upto so I just came back to Pakistan and after that, a lot of investigations happened, I have played for Pakistan, I was never into match-fixing, I was trapped because I was to play UAE league, PCB didn’t support me much but at least they heard me, my whole career was wrapped at the age of 24, I was treated bad, but I didn’t lose heart”

Talking about regaining his status, Hasan Raza said, “People started ignoring me, they didn’t use to pick my call up, I was only giving explanations to people about my match-fixing controversy, hats off to my wife and my mother who stood firm by my side, I then left the city, after that there was a time in my life when I was offered 40 thousand per month for the job of coach, and I was the one who saw boom in life so this downfall was unbearable for me, I then did struggle a lot, I opened my academies in Islamabad, it took me 7 years to get financially stable”
