After India’s commendable win against New Zealand in the semifinals of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan made a hilarious remark. After India’s victory, Amithabh took to Twitter and said, “When I don’t watch, we win!”

His remarks left fans split on social media, as many came up with hilarious suggestions for him. A social media user asked the Mumbai Police to arrest Amithabh and keep him in prison so he couldn’t watch India’s final game. Meanwhile, another user asked Amitabh to refrain from watching the finals of the ongoing tournament.

It’s worth noting that India beat New Zealand by 70 runs in the semifinals on Wednesday. Star batters Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer scored magnificent centuries to help India post 397/4 in 50 overs. In the second inning, star pacer Mohammad Shami took charge and drew seven wickets to seal the game for the Men in Blue. The hosts will now head to Ahmedabad for the finals.

Who will face India in the finals?

The final match of the ongoing tournament will take place on November 19 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India will face the winner of the second semi-final match between South Africa and Australia. Five-time World Champion Australia is on a seven-match winning streak and will look to continue their winning run.

Meanwhile, South Africa will be looking to qualify for the finals of the ODI World Cup for the first time. Since 1999’s semi-final defeat, South Africa has failed to put up a show in the marquee event. However, in the ongoing edition, the team lost just two games in nine matches and will be keen to continue their dominance. It’s worth noting that in 1999’s edition, South Africa failed to propel further in the finals after a tie game in the semis.
