India and Pakistan A sides locked horns in the final of the Emerging Asia Cup 2023 in Colombo. In the game, the Men In Blue won the toss and elected to bowl first on a dry surface. It looked like a poor decision given the final and also the wicket not being too conducive for batting. Meanwhile, Rajvardhan Hangargekar took the wicket of Saim Ayub.

However, it turned out to be a no-ball. This reminded the fans about the Champions Trophy 2017 final. In that game too, the senior India side won the toss and elected to bowl first. Jasprit Bumrah took the wicket of Fakhar Zaman but it turned out to be a no-ball. He scored a hundred and the team won the game by 180 runs.

Meanwhile, coming back to the game, the likes of Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan put together 121 runs for the first wicket. After this, the team lost five wickets for just 187 runs. At the stage, the likes of Tayyab Tahir (108) and Mubasir Khan (35) reach a competitive total of 352/8.

India lost the game by 128 runs

In reply, the former champions had a good start with Sai Sudharsan and Abhishek Sharma putting together 64 runs. When the going went well, Arshad Iqbal took the wicket of Sudharsan. However, it looked like a no-ball but the poor camera vision meant that the third umpire gave it out.

After this, Sharma went on to score 61 runs but got out to a poor shot at point. Apart from this, no other batter could get past the 30s and 40s. This is why the team wasn’t in the game even though the required run rate was under control. In the end, the team was bowled out for 224 runs, losing the game by 128 runs. This game certainly became identical to the Champions Trophy 2017 final.
