The sixteenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) saw the return of the action as the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) hosted the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Kolkata’s renowned Eden Garden. KKR had won their previous two games, while RR had dropped points in their previous three IPL 2023 contests. According to their recent performance, KKR will aim to build on their winning streak. In this intriguing matchup, RR, though, appear to be the stronger team on paper, and the game played out similarly.
KKR were dismissed for 149/8 in their 20 overs thanks to Yuzvendra Chahal, who ignited the atmosphere. Venkatesh Iyer continued to lead the KKR scoring with 57 off 42, and only skipper Nitish Rana was able to score more than 20 runs. With 4/25 in four overs, Yuzvendra Chahal continued to be the preferred bowler for RCB. Sandeep Sharma and KM Asif each claimed one victim, while Trent Boult replied with two wickets.

However, Yashasvi Jaiswal (98 off 47) and Sanju Samson (48 off 29) made the chase look like a daily affair as Rajasthan Royals won by 9 wickets. For KKR, none of the seven bowlers used could take a wicket. The only wicket of Jos Buttler was a run out by Andre Russell. Rajasthan Royals are now placed third with 12 points of 12 matches. At the same time, Kolkata Knight Riders are placed seventh with 10 points of 12 games.
Next, in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, the table-toppers Gujarat Titans will play host to the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League 2023. Mumbai Indians have found some traction after a customarily rocky start to their season; they are coming off a commanding six-wicket victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their previous match. The Gujarat Titans, who have won two straight games, are the team with the “Golden Touch” at the same moment.
