‘Jaise khel rhe hai uss hisab se toh pura KIT Bag chori ho jana chahiye’ – Fans react as 16 bats were stolen from Delhi Capitals dressing room
On April 30, the Indian Cricket Board will commemorate the 1000th IPL game. The 1000th IPL game will be played between the Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals, and the board plans to mark the milestone in style.
In the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023, Delhi Capitals are the only team to not win a single game in the 16th edition of the tournament. The team has lost five out of five games they played and, currently, running out of the race for the playoffs. Skipper David Warner along with head coach Ricky Ponting will be looking to find a way to get back on the winning track.
However, in a recent development, it has been revealed that more than a dozen cricket bats have been stolen from the team’s kit during their transit from Bengaluru to Delhi. According to a news report, Delhi Capitals lost nearly 16 bats, thigh pads, pads and gloves during the transit on Sunday. Notably, the team was coming back after facing RCB in their last game.
According to the report, the 16 bats include three from skipper David Warner, two from all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, three from wicketkeeper-batter Phil Salt and five from youngster Yash Dhull. The bats of foreign players cost a lakh rupees each. The Delhi Capitals managed to make it possible to practice on Tuesday. A number of them asked their bat manufacturers to send a handful of them before the next game by contacting their representatives.
“Will take appropriate action”, says the airport authority
After the matter came to light, Delhi Capitals reached the airport officials of the Indira Gandhi International Airport and logged a complaint. The airport authority has ensured they take appropriate action. DCP (Airport) Devesh Kumar Mahla told the media house that two men came on Tuesday evening and informed them about the loss.
“Our duty officer asked them to write a complaint with all the details and gave them a paper. They said that they would get all the details and will file a complaint. Appropriate legal action would be taken,” he said.
Meanwhile, On April 30, the Indian Cricket Board will commemorate the 1000th IPL game. The 1000th IPL game will be played between the Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals, and the board plans to mark the milestone in style. An event management company has been contracted by the IPL for the job.
