In the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, India skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss against arch-rivals Pakistan at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In a high-voltage clash, India opted to field first, considering the dew at night. The Indian team also made a change in playing XI as Ishan Kishan made way for Shubman Gill.
However, during the match, a video of star Indian batter Virat Kohli went viral on social media. Kohli, who was flying in a 30-yard circle, was seen donning the wrong jersey for the game. He was seen in a normal white-striped jersey during the game. However, he soon realised his mistake and went to the dressing room to change his clothes.
Despite that, his video went viral on social media as fans started making hilarious comments. It’s worth noting that Adidas, the kit sponsor of the Indian cricket team, has designed a special jersey for the ongoing ODI World Cup. It released a full-fledged launch song for it before the tournament.
Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan cruise Pakistan
After losing the toss, Pakistan came to bat first at the batting paradise. The team got off to a good start, as both Abdullah Shafique and Imam-Ul-Haq were looking in good control. However, soon Mohammad Siraj and Hardik Pandya dismissed both of them and pushed Pakistan on the back foot. The men in green were crumbling at 73/2 in 13 overs.
After their departure, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan took charge and started rebuilding the innings. Both have established a steady partnership and are currently holding the fortress for Pakistan. It’s worth noting that in all seven World Cup games, India have emerged victorious against Pakistan. The Men in Green will be looking to change history.
