India’s team for the remaining Test matches against England has been finally been made public. For personal reasons, star batterVirat Kohli will continue to skip the series. Moreover, batsman Shreyas Iyer has been left out of the team. He would not be part of the squad due to a groin injury, according to some sources.
The two players who had been injured and missed the second Test, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul, have been added back to the team. However, fitness clearance will be required before they may participate. Furthermore, pacer Akash Deep of Royal Challengers Bangalore has earned his first Test call-up for India.
Avesh Khan was allowed to compete in the current Ranji Trophy and has been removed from the squad. But Akash was selected by the selection committee as an option in the pace department. A few days ago, during an unofficial day’s game versus the England Lions, Akash showed off his amazing bowling abilities.
