Prithvi Shaw’s selfie controversy took a fresh twist as one of the eight booked by the Oshiwara Police Station claims that Shaw and his friend accused her. Sana, alias Sapna Gill alleged that Prithvi Shaw had a stick in his hand and assaulted her with his friend.
Sapna Gill’s lawyer, Ali Kashif Khan, added that the police at the Oshiwara police station in Mumbai were not allowing her to go for medical tests.
“Sapna was assaulted by Prithvi. A stick was seen in Prithvi’s hand. Prithvi’s friends assaulted the group first. Sapna is currently at Oshiwara police station. The police are not allowing her to go for medical,” Ali Kashif said.

A police complaint was filed, and the investigation started with the two accused being booked under sections 384,143, 148,149, 427,504, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. Later, the number of people booked increased to eight for attacking the car of Prithvi Shaw’s friend Ashish Surendra Yadav.
A few fans, including the set of accused, approached Prithvi Shaw for a selfie in the Mansion Club of the Sahara Star Hotel in Mumbai on Wednesday, 15 February. Shaw obliged this request but denied it when asked repeatedly. The hotel manager immediately had to intervene, asking the fans to leave the premises to control the situation.
Disappointed at the turn of events, the accused waited outside for Shaw and his friend’s car to make their way out. They followed the vehicle and halted it near the Jogeshwari Link Road Lotus petrol pump. One of the accused smashed the car’s windshield with a baseball bat. Furthermore, they assaulted Shaw’s friend blackmailing him for 50,000 INR. Shaw’s friend was immediately reported to the Oshiwara Police Station.
Notably, Prithvi Shaw has been in flying form in the domestic circuit. He has taken a break from competitive cricket after the home series against New Zealand.
