The Mumbai team’s Indian T20 League 2023 season is off to a shaky start. They dropped their first game of the year to Bangalore. They will play again at the Wankhede stadium on April 8 against Chennai. Therefore, fans expect Rohit Sharma and his team to put on a much stronger display.
Tilak Varma, however, distinguished himself by scoring a historic 84* runs against Bangalore. In preparation for the match in Chennai, the team has now introduced a customised chair priced at Rs 29,999. Fans went bonkers when they saw that chair and its price, and they cruelly mocked Mumbai on social media.

Rohit Sharma, the captain of Mumbai, remarked that the pitch was favourable for batting after the team’s defeat against Bangalore. Yet they weren’t able to play their best baseball. Due to injuries, Mumbai’s bowling squad has been without the services of Jasprit Bumrah and Jhye Richardson this season. Thus, Rohit asserted, the available bowlers must seize chances to fill those positions.
He said: “Someone needs to put their hand up and come in to fill that place. We can’t keep dwelling on it. You can try and control the things that are in your control and those that are not in your control; you can’t do that. Injuries are not in your control. The other guys that we have are talented. It’s just that they haven’t played a lot of the Indian T20 League. We need to give them support.”
“We didn’t start well, and it was always a catching-up game. Hats off to Tilak to get us to a competitive total. It was a good pitch to bat on. We didn’t bat to even half of our potential and yet got to 170. Probably 30-40 runs more would have been ideal. We were struggling to play the catch-up game, but Tilak was magnificent,” the Mumbai skipper concluded.
