Travis Head is likely to register his name in the IPL auctions 2024. The Australian batter has been in some serious form since his transformation in the late 2021. The Southpaw has been scoring runs for fun since then at a very good rate. In 2023, Head has played some sensational knocks, particularly at big stages like the World Test Championship final and the ODI World Cup 2023.
In the WTC Final 2023, Head scored a hundred against India and took the game away from them in the very first day of the match. In the recently concluded ODI World Cup 2023, Head attained immortality by winning two knockout matches for Australia. Before doing that, Head scored a quick hundred against New Zealand on his comeback match for Australia in Dharmshala.
After suffering an injury in the series against South Africa, the South Australian was ruled out of the series against India and the first few matches of the ODI World Cup 2023. Since his comeback, he became a vital cog in the Australian lineup. In the semifinal of the ODI World Cup, Head scored 66 runs with the bat and claimed 2 wickets with the ball against South Africa at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

In the final of the tournament, Head won the game with terrific fielding efforts and batting. Earlier in the match, Head claimed a sensational catch to dismiss a dangerous-looking Rohit Sharma. Chasing 241, Australia was reduced to 47/3. From there, Head played a great knock and took Australia home. With his batting performance, Australia was able to win a record sixth world title.
In his stay in the middle, Head scored 137 runs in 120 balls, which included several boundaries and sixes. Head won the Player of the Match award in both the Semifinal and Final of the tournament. In the process, Head became only the third player after Mohinder Amarnath and Aravinda De Silva to achieve the feat in a single edition of the World Cup. Come the IPL auctions 2024, Head would be in huge demand.
