Ahead of the final ODI match against India, the Australian team had a final practice session in Rajkot. Before the game started, Australian batter Steve Smith took to his Instagram account to share some glimpses of the city. However, a hilarious mixup in city names by Smith left fans in shock on social media.

While posting a picture of fans, Smith wrote, “People love it in Indore.” However, after realising that they were in Rajkot, Smith posted one more picture and said, “My mistake, we are actually in Rajkot.” Despite this, fans were furious to spot his mistake, and meme pages flourished because of his post.

It’s worth noting that India will take on Australia in the third ODI in Rajkot after winning the first two in Mohali and Indore. Team India will look to have a clean sweep over the Aussies for the first time in their ODI history. On the other hand, Australia will look to register a victory here to go into the ODI World Cup with high confidence.

India faces a lack of bench strength ahead of the game

Meanwhile, as India skipper Rohit Sharma mentioned on Tuesday, the team is going into the game with just 13 players. Five players are not available for selection due to various reasons, including injury and sickness. According to Rohit, Shubman Gill has been rested while Ishan Kishan is suffering from viral. On the other hand, pacer Mohammed Shami, all-rounder Hardik Pandya, and Shardul Thakur went back to their homes ahead of the World Cup.

It’s worth noting that India will be happy with the comeback of skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and spinner Kuldeep Yadav into the playing XI. They came after a week-long break from international cricket. India will head to Guwahati and Trivandrum after this game to participate in the warm-up game of the ODI World Cup before starting their campaign against Australia in Chennai on October 8.

Here is how fans react to Steve Smith’s brain fade moment:
