‘Isine run out miss karvaya’ – Twitter abuzz as fan dishes out marriage proposal for Shubman Gill on banner during WTC final

Shubman Gill was dismissed after only managing 13 runs off of 15 balls in the first innings of WTC Final

Marriage Proposal for Shubman Gill at WTC

Playing in the present World Test Championship (WTC) final at the Oval is Shubman Gill’s current commitment. He was trying to maintain his form in this match after having a strong IPL with the bat for Gujarat Titans (GT). He earned the Orange Cap after scoring 890 runs in the competition.

But he was unable to do so since Gill was dismissed after only managing 13 runs off of 15 balls in the first innings. When he went to go, the ball slightly swung in and struck his off stump. But on the third day of this conflict, a picture of a young girl holding a sign supporting Gill has gone viral. For the batter, it was a marriage proposal because it said, “Marry me, Shubman.” When they saw it, supporters were in a frenzy and posted their opinions on social media.

Dinesh Karthik and Ravi Shastri offered their insight on Shubman Gill’s dismissal

Dinesh Karthik commented on his dismissal and said that it was quite an outstanding set-up by Scott Boland to grab the wicket of the batsman who was in good form. Karthik said the following to the Cricket Apex Council: “Shubman’s ball was a really good one. I think he (Boland) set him up beautifully, bowling just around the fourth stump and then pitching this one slightly wider, giving the visual perception that it’s probably a good ball to leave but it came back enough to take his off and middle.”

As he is still a young player, Gill will learn about leaving the ball in England, according to former Team India coach Ravi Shastri. On the broadcast, he said: “We talk about leaving the ball in England and we always talk about knowing where your off stump is. This is not knowing where your off-stump is. See, Shubman Gill, being a little lazy with his footwork. He will learn; he is still young.”

Here’s how fans reacted to the viral image:
