Ishan Kishan misses more domestic white-ball fixtures as he attends Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding festivities
Ishan Kishan last played a competitive match for Team India during November 2023.
Ishan Kishan arrived in Jamnagar on Friday to attend Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s three-day pre-wedding festivities. Kishan was in a different mindset than when he was demoted out of the Indian Cricket Board central contracts for failing to show up for Jharkhand during the Ranji Trophy, despite strong orders from both the Indian team management and the BCCI.
In a social media video that is going viral, the left-handed attacking keeper-batter was seen with a bold smile. He gave the photographers the thumbs up as well.
Ishan Kishan was seen playing in the DY Patil T20 Cup 2024, marking his comeback to competitive cricket. The wicketkeeper-batter for RBI participated in their game against Route Mobile Limited on Tuesday, February 27, at the DY Patil University Grounds in Navi Mumbai.
After RBI was sent into the field initially by Route Mobile Limited, Kishan was observed wearing gloves. Along with players like Shahbaz Nadeem, Amit Mishra, Ankit Rajpoot, Dhruv Shorey, and Riyan Parag, Kishan is a member of the RBI squad.
But since he has made his way to the pre-wedding festivities of Anant Ambani, he might be missing out on some competitive cricket once again. This has certainly caught the public eye as he looks set to return for the Mumbai Indians later this month.
“We were happy to give him a break” : Rahul Dravid on Ishan Kishan
Rahul Dravid, the head coach of India, left the door open for Kishan to rejoin the national squad. But he also stated unequivocally that he must resume playing cricket in some capacity.
The Team India Head Coach Rahul Dravid said, “There is a way back for anyone and everyone. It’s not that we rule out anybody from anything. Again, I just don’t want to go on labouring about the Ishan Kishan point. I have tried to explain this as best as I can. He had requested a break, we were happy to give him a break.”
