The 20-year-old Meerut native’s stroke play during the Uttar Pradesh T20 League’s debut season has caught the attention of several IPL scouts. Neither his age nor his inexperience prevented the management from giving him the captaincy or from having an impact on his batting. The right-handed batter who uses his hands a little more than the others showed off his range by leaving no part of the ground unexplored. Chennai Super Kings, the five-time IPL Champions, paid a hefty INR 8.4 crores to get the batter.
