5) Prasidh Krishna
A lumbar stress injury forced Krishna to take a protracted break; as a result, he was unable to participate in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) or Team India’s home season. But he’s been deemed fit following a rigorous rehabilitation programme at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and surgery. He has been wearing the national colours once more as of late, thus he might be eligible for the upcoming league season.
4) Shreyas Iyer
Prior to the 2022 IPL, KKR paid INR 12.25 crore (about USD 1.5 million) to acquire Shreyas Iyer. With six victories and eight losses that season, he guided the team to a seventh-place finish. He was forced to miss the World Test Championship final during that time as well as the IPL in April 2023 due to a back issue. After missing the 2023 campaign due to a back ailment, Shreyas Iyer will captain the Kolkata Knight Riders again in the 2024 Indian Premier League.
3) Rajat Patidar
With Rajat Patidar sidelined due to a heel injury, Royal Challengers Bangalore were left without his services for the whole 2023 Indian Premier League. Half of the season was spent at National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, where Patidar was receiving rehabilitation. He was expected to come into the team in the second half. Unfortunately for RCB, he has been excluded from the competition for this edition following crucial tests and a carefully examined medical prognosis. But recently, he has been playing excellently, and he would try to address the team’s middle-order issue.
2) Rishabh Pant
The majority of cricket fans worldwide are eager to see a healthy Rishabh Pant return to the pitch. Pant had many operations following a terrifying New Year’s Eve 2022 car crash. His recuperation has been a difficult journey. Despite the difficulties, Pant’s perseverance has carried him through to the end. He will now captain the Delhi Capitals for the forthcoming campaign.
1) Jasprit Bumrah
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 did not feature Mumbai Indians’ standout bowler Jasprit Bumrah. This was due to his inability to recover from an injury, which turned out to be a severe blow. Bumrah missed the season due to a back stress fracture, which turned out to be more problematic than it first looked to be. However, since his return to the international cricket, the fast bowler has featured prominently and will spearhead the MI attack once again next season.
