Pakistan

A Pakistani Sports Journalist, named Mirza Iqbal Baig has received a lot of criticism for his response to a Tweet shared by London-based journalist Sonia Twigg.

England have come to play a Test series in Pakistan for the first time in 17 years. A lot of journalists from England are also in the country to cover the series. Prior to the start of the series, a London-based sports journalist, named Sonia Twigg took to her Twitter handle to express her delight over covering the series in Pakistan.

“Delighted to be in Pakistan for my first England cricket tour. I am also very proud to become (I think!) the first woman from PA to go on tour with the England cricket team, and one of a very small group to do so at all”, she wrote as the caption in her Twitter post.

A prominent sports journalist from Pakistan, Mirza Iqbal Baig also left a comment as he welcomed her into Pakistan. However, in his comment, he, mistakenly wrote ‘hoe’ instead of writing ‘hope’, and the fans were pretty quick to point it out.

A post of the same has been going viral on the internet and netizens have come up with hilarious reactions on the same. Here’s a look at some of those:

Meanwhile, Pakistan are on the brink of losing the third Test against England in Karachi. England bowled out Pakistan for just 216 runs in their second innings as Rehan Ahmed ran through their batting line-up.

He claimed five wickets for just 48 runs in 14.5 overs, while Jack Leach made impressive returns of 3 for 72 in 26 overs. For Pakistan, Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel scored respective half-centuries but, other than that, there wasn’t any useful contribution from the rest of the batters.

England were set a target of just 167 runs to chase down and the Three Lions need only 55 runs to win the Test at stumps on Day 3. Den Duckett is currently unbeaten on 50 off 38 deliveries.
