Gujarat and Mumbai will lock horns at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on May 6. Both teams have had a contrasting season so far. The Indian T20 League debutants are topping the points table with eight wins in 10 games. On the other hand, the five-time winners are tottering the bottom with one win in nine games. The Hardik Pandya-led side has virtually qualified for the playoffs while the Men In Blue and Gold are out of playoff race.
Gujarat:Â The team is coming off a loss against Punjab in their last game. This was only their second loss in the season. With 16 points in their kitty, they are almost through to the playoffs and will be looking to finish in the top two with a few more wins under their belt. Even though they had a bad day, they are unlikely to change their playing XI.
Wriddhiman Saha:Â The 37-year-old has been one of the underrated performers with the bat over the years. Recently, he scored a quick half-century against Hyderabad. Also, as an opener, Saha has been aggressive, taking pressure of the Shubman Gill. He will be a key player for the team.
Mohammed Shami:Â The right-arm pacer has been effective with the new ball in the ongoing season. Although he had a tough day in the previous game, he will be keen to make a comeback. The pacer has swung the ball both ways and will be a big threat to the Rohit Sharma-led team.
Probable XI: Shubman Gill, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Sai Sudharsan, Hardik Pandya (c), David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Alzarri Joseph, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammed Shami, Pradeep Sangwan.
Mumbai: After recording eight losses in as many games, the Rohit Sharma-led side finally won their first game against Rajasthan. As they cannot qualify for the playoffs, they can certainly play a spoilsport in the oppositions’ quest for top 4. Having registered their first win, Mumbai might not want to tinker with the winning combination.
Suryakumar Yadav:Â The right-hander has been one of the highest run getters for the team this season. In most of the games, he has stood up for the team when others have let the side down. Yadav will have to deliver a good performance if Mumbai have to continue their winning run.
Kumar Kartikeya:Â The mystery spinner proved effective in his debut game with a couple of wickets. They way he bowled in the game impressed not just the coaches and the skipper, but also the former players. He will be keen to have another good show and gain some much deserve limelight.
Probable XI:Â Rohit Sharma (c), Ishan Kishan (wk), Tim David, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Kieron Pollard, Daniel Sams, Kumar Kartikeya Singh, Hrithik Shokeen, Jasprit Bumrah, Riley Meredith

Pitch Report: The last game between Gujarat and Bangalore here saw the target of 170 runs being chased down easily. However, the pitches are getting slower and the upcoming game might not be the high-scoring one. Spinners will be very hard to tackle on this dying surface.
