Bangalore and Chennai will face off on April 12 at the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Mumbai. Both teams have had a contrasting season so far. Bangalore, after losing their first game, have won three back-to-back games. On the other hand, defending champions Chennai have lost all of their four games. The three-time finalists will look forward to keeping their winning momentum going while the four-time winners will look to register their first win of the season.

Bangalore: Their death overs specialist, Harshal Patel reportedly left the bio-bubble due to the death of his sister. However, the sources had said that Patel will join the team ahead of the game. However, the quarantine rules might prevent him from featuring in the XI.

Key Players: 

Faf du Plessis- The former South Africa skipper started the tournament with an innings of 88 runs. Since then, he hasn’t played any substantial inning. He will be looking forward to getting back to scoring big runs, especially against his former team.

Virat Kohli - The former skipper of the team looked composed while scoring 48 against Mumbai. He will be keen to perform against Chennai as score his fifty 50+ score of the tournament.

Chennai: The season for the Men In Yellow has been a forgetful so far. After 2010, this is the first time that they have lost four games of a season, consecutively. The team is also marred by injuries to Deepak Chahar and Adam Milne. They are also dealing with a lack of experience in pace bowling. It might be possible that the team bring in Rajvardhan Hangargekar in place of the Shivam Dube, with the latter being weak on the bowling front. 

Key Players: 

Maheesh Theekshana - The mystery spinner from Sri Lanka made his debut against Hyderabad. He couldn’t take a wicket and was expensive as well. However, he has done well in recent times and might trouble Bangalore batters who have strugged against spin of late.

Robin Uthappa - The Karnataka player has shown glimpses of brilliance in the short innings he has played. A big inning is not too far away.
