India vs South Africa T20I: Injury could rule these 3 players out of the series
India and South Africa play the first match of the T20I series on 28th September.
After clinching an impressive win over Australia in the T20I series, India has set its sights on the upcoming T20I series against South Africa next. The three-match T20I series starts on 28th September in Thiruvananthapuram.
While most of the Indian and South African players are fit and raring to go, there are some who have left their teams sweating with injury concerns. Let’s look at three players who could miss the upcoming T20I series due to injury.
Deepak Hooda

Deepak Hooda has seen a sensational rise to the top of Indian cricket. Having performed immensely well in the Indian T20 League the batting all-rounder was picked into the Men in Blues side and grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
Hooda scored a sensational century (104) against Ireland and has since then become an important player for India in the shortest format. In what has come out as a dampener for Indian fans, the Rohtak born has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against South Africa with a back injury.
Mohammad Shami

India’s premium fast bowler Mohammad Shami was unexpectedly brought back into the Indian T20I squad after more than a year. The 32-year-old was all set to showcase his talent against Australia but COVID turned out to be a spoilsport and ruled him out of the series.
A large uncertainty still looms large over the right arm pacer as he has still not recovered. There is a very high chance that the Jonagar born could miss the South Africa series.
Rassie van der Dussen

Van der Dussen shone as a batter against India in the last T20I series in June this year. On the back of his sensational batting, the visiting team were able to win two matches in the five-match series.
The right-hand batter however will not be there to scare the Indian bowling lineup as he has been ruled out of the T20I series with an index finger injury. The injury that he sustained in the second Test in England has also ruled him out of the 20-20 World Cup.
