The one-off Test between the Australian women’s team and the Indian women’s team is slated to take place at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in December 2023. Most of the fixtures on the Australians’ all-format tour of India are expected to be played at various locations in Mumbai.

Alongside with the one-off Test, the three-game ODI series is going to be played at the Wankhede Stadium, based on a report by Code Sports. The DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai is set to host the T20I series, exactly like it did the previous time. According to reports, the three-match T20I series is scheduled to take place in January 2024.

The last time India held a women’s Test encounter was in November 2014 when South Africa visited Mysore. In 1984, Australia played their final Test encounter on Indian soil at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

Through the Ashes series, all-format series featuring a combined score have become commonplace in women’s cricket. In the 2021 all-format tour match between Australia and India, the Women in Yellow prevailed by a score of 11-5, while their one-off pink ball Test resulted in a draw. The ODI World Cup 2023 is now taking place at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. The game between the hosts, India, and Sri Lanka will take place there.

“We’re going to prepare the way that we normally would” : Ashleigh Gardner

With her spin bowling during their Ashes Test victory over England earlier this year, Australian all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner significantly contributed to the nation’s success. Gardner recently discussed how the team’s preparations will depend on the weather.

She said, “We know when we’ve played shorter format it’s generally pretty flat. So yeah, the Test match poses a different type of thing as well. But I think naturally, we’re going to prepare the way that we normally would. We’re going over there pretty early. So it gives us a great opportunity to actually get used to the conditions and get used to being back in India again.”
