Bengaluru, 01 August 2022: Karnataka State Cricket Association on Monday announced the schedule of the much-awaited Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 which will kick start at the Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar Cricket Ground in Mysuru from 7th August.
In the opening match of the mega T20 tournament on Sunday, Hubli Tigers coached by Deepak Chowgle will take on Stuart Binny-coached Mangalore United and in the second match of the day, home team Mysuru Warriors coached by PV Shashikanth will face off against Shivamogga Strikers, a team coached by the famed Nikhil Haldipur.
A total of 18 matches will be held in Mysuru followed by a total of 16 matches including the final being held in Bengaluru at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Chief Coach Naziruddin T’s Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters with star recruits Mayank Agarwal, Suchith J, Anirudha Joshi among others will begin their campaign on 8th August with their first match against Gulbarga Mystics coached by the seasoned Mansur Ali Khan and featuring a star-studded line-up with Manish Pandey and Devdutt Padikkal headlining the squad. With the player draft completed last week, the excitement among fans and players is palpable with just a week left before the mega T20 tournament begins.
About Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20
The marquee Twenty20 cricket tournament will be organised in the memory of the HRH late Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, the former President of KSCA and Maharaja of Mysore. The Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 will commence on 7th August in Mysore with the first leg of matches being held at the Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar Ground in Mysore. A total of 18 matches will be held in Mysore followed by a total of 16 matches including the final being held in Bengaluru at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The Shriram Group will be the title sponsor for the marquee Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20. They have been announced as the title sponsors for a period of 3 years, commencing this season.
The three-week T20 extravaganza will be telecast live on Star Sports 2 and Star Sports Kannada. It will also be streamed live on the Fancode app for larger consumption.
