‘How about punishing umpires?’ – Fans troll Apex Council as they fine Shubman Gill for showing dissent against third umpire’s decision
Shubman GIll took a brutal dig at the umpires for deeming him out.
India’s opening batter, Shubman Gill has been reprimanded by the Apex Council. He showcased his dissent on social media against the third umpire’s decision. Gill posted the photo of Cameron Gree taking his catch. While the latter maintained that he took a fair catch, Gill felt otherwise. Now with the WTC Final over with Australia winning the game, the India opening batter has been fined 15 percent of his match fees.
“India’s Shubman Gill will face a sanction for appearing to criticise the decision to give him out on the fourth day of the Test, breaching article 2.7 which relates to public criticism or inappropriate comment in relation to an incident occurring in an international match. The young opener was fined a further 15 percent of his match fee,” the statement read.
Umpires could have seen different replays in Shubman Gill’s case: Rohit Sharma
“The third umpire should have seen more replays,” said Rohit. “I think it was three or four times he saw (replays) and he was convinced with it. It’s not about whether it was given out or not out, you need to have a proper and clear information.
“That is something that I was a little disappointed with – the decision was made quite quickly.
“When a catch like that has been taken, you need to be more than 100 per cent sure because it’s a final and we were at an important stage of the game as well. So that was to me a little disappointing.
“More camera angles should have been shown. There was only one or two camera angles that were shown. We’ve got more angles in IPL.
“We’ve got 10 different angles in the IPL.
“I don’t know why in a world event like this, there was no ultra (slow) motion that was seen or any kind of zoomed image was seen. That is what I was a little disappointed with.”

How about fining the umpire in question for his poor umpiring and taking him out of India's games given his repeated history
