From the IPL 2011 to 2017, Gautam Gambhir significantly contributed to the success of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Under his leadership, the team from Kolkata made its first-ever playoff appearance and proceeded on to take home the league titles in 2012 as well as 2014.
While Gautam Gambhir served as captain of Kolkata Knight Riders, the team discovered a lot of new talent. Gambhir left KKR in 2018 to play for his hometown team, Delhi Daredevils, in his final IPL season. Kolkata fans still adore him a lot, despite the fact that he departed the team. Gautam Gambhir began serving as a mentor with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in 2022.
Since then, he has served as a coach for LSG, but during the past few hours, fans of KKR have expressed their wish to see Gambhir return to the team as a part of the management.
After news broke that LSG head coach Andy Flower’s agreement had come to an end and Justin Langer would take over, rumours began to circulate on social media. The contracts of LSG’s backroom staff members have not received an official update, but fans have suggested that Gambhir should also leave LSG and go back to KKR.
It is unknown if Gambhir will switch to Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024 from Lucknow Super Giants. It’s possible that the rumour will also turn out to be untrue. However, it can be inferred from responses to the rumours on social media that KKR supporters are looking forward to welcoming former player Knight to the team.
There are still a few months before the IPL 2024 Auction. The side that placed in the second half of the IPL 2023 standings may make a few adjustments to their coaching staff, according to Cricbuzz. Ajit Agarkar as well as Shane Watson have already been axed from the Delhi Capitals squad. It will be fascinating to see whether Andy Flower is the next to quit LSG and Gautam Gambhir might also follow him.
Fans react to reports of Gautam Gambhir joining KKR as head coach:

If this is true, it would mark the beginning of a new glorious era for KKR. Gauti is one of the very few leaders who can both scout talent and develop/motivate them, while ensuring success doesn’t go into their heads. Rather than rely on @VenkyMysore, @iamsrk needs to get…

I can see it happening because Justin Langer is being linked to LSG so gambhir might as well move somewhere else

Its better to release Russell Narine and utilise that money to other foreign players….not on coaches and staffs
