Former Bangalore player AB de Villers has said that Dinesh Karthik is currently in the form of his life. Karthik has scored 197 runs for the Men in Red and Black in the ongoing Indian T20 League, despite batting in the lower middle-order. Notably, he averages 197 as he has been dismissed only once in the six games played so far.

The right-hander won two games for Bangalore, against Rajasthan and Delhi, on his own with his unbeaten knocks. In the game against Rajasthan, he scored 44 off 23 balls to help the team chase down the target of 170. Bangalore were tottering at 87/5 at one stage of the chase. In the game against Delhi, his side was tottering at 92/5 batting first. The Tamil Nadu player then scored 66 off 34 balls to take the team to 189/5.

They went on to win the game by 16 runs. Thanks to those winning contributions, the Faf du Plessis-led side has now won four out of six games and is sitting at the fourth spot on the points table. They will play their next game against Lucknow on April 19. Ahead of the game, the former South Africa skipper has said that the way Karthik is batting, it makes him feel like he wants to come out of retirement and play the game again.

“The form he is at this moment and he has already won RCB 2-3 games. He looks like he is in the form of his life. I don’t know where that comes from because he hasn’t played a lot of cricket. But man, he looks in good form and he plays around the wicket 360 degrees. He almost makes me feel like I want to go back and play some cricket again, watching him play. He gets me excited, plays under pressure in the middle order and he’s got a lot of experience and if he keeps his form up there is a good chance that RCB are going a long way up,” ABD said on VUSport Youtube channel.
