‘He has become like an MS Dhoni-kind of a guy’ – Harbhajan Singh lauds Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya has been delivering it for India of late and the fans can’t stop lauding him for his composure and excellent finishing skills. The all-rounder explained that he had acquired the skills from all those whom he has played with. The recent to heap praise on the Gujarat-born was former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh. The former spinner opined that the all-rounder has come a long way and praised him for his composure.

Singh predicted that Hardik Pandya might become India’s captain in the future and highlighted on the qualities that he possesses to be one. Hardik Pandya smashed 33 off just seventeen balls to take India home in the last match against Pakistan which went down the wire. The 28-year-old even picked up a three-for to help the Men in Blue with the ball as well.

Harbhajan Singh compared him to former India captain MS Dhoni and pointed out the similarities between the two.

“He should become captain, I think he will become captain. He has shown a different aspect of himself,” Singh said on Sports Tak. The former spinner lauded his batting and advised him to carry on the same form.

“He has become like an MS Dhoni-kind of a guy. he is very calm and composed. He is batting very well. It comes when one has belief on one’s ability,” he added.

Pandya captained the Gujarat team in the Indian T20 League and helped the team clinch the title in its maiden ever appearance in the tournament. Since then, the all-rounder has risen in stature and has been doing well for India as well on his return.

The 42-year-old was excited to opine on Pandya’s swag and rated him the best all-rounder for India at the moment. He recalled his stint as captain in the Indian T20 League and applauded him for the same.

“When he goes out to bat, there is a different level of swag. He has worked so hard and returned to action that he knows he will be able to do the job and win games for India. I do see him becoming captain of India. The way he showcased his temperament during the match against Pakistan, and during the IPL as well, he was brilliant. I think he has got all the capabilities to be the national team’s captain going forward,” Singh concluded.
