“He clearly said…” – Animal filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga reveals why he didn’t cast Ranbir Kapoor in and as Kabir Singh

Ranbir Kapoor

The first film that Ranbir Kapoor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga collaborated on, ‘Animal’, has performed well at the box office. Despite their recent collaboration, Ranbir was familiar with the director’s work from the time of Arjun Reddy, his first feature film. Ranbir even texted him following the release of the Telugu drama, but the director didn’t see it because it was an SMS.

Sandeep stated in an interview with Dainik Bhasker that he no longer frequently checks his text messages because the majority of communication takes place on WhatsApp.

Director drops truth bombs on Ranbir Kapoor:

The director revealed, “Ranbir Kapoor sent me an SMS. The practice of checking SMS has disappeared since the introduction of WhatsApp. Since WhatsApp is used by everyone, I stopped checking my SMS. I believe Ranbir also showed me the message. I have been missing a lot of people’s messages because of this. Anil ji, Anil Kapoor had also messaged.”

When asked if the actor and director had previously spoken and if there was a chance for Ranbir to appear in the Hindi remake Kabir Singh. Sandeep responded promptly, “No, Ranbir very clearly said that he wouldn’t do a remake. Thus, I was aware.”

The Ranbir Kapoor-led film Animal’s box office performance has been remarkably strong even with its contentious portrayal of violence and misogyny. But the film’s enormous commercial success can be attributed to both those who find it fascinating and those who condemn it for its content. The director of Animal, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is the one making all the news.

After directing just two films, Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh, Sandeep Reddy Vanga rose to prominence in the nation’s film industry. Few people are aware of the struggles Vanga has faced, even though we all know the director he is today. The main cast of Animal includes Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Ranbir Kapoor. In just one week, the movie brought in Rs 563.3 crore worldwide.
