India are all set to play Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy from 9th February. The series will play a crucial role as India look to book their ICC World Test Championship 2021-2023 cycle. South Africa will watch the Test series with interest as Australia have already sealed their spot in the finals. The Proteas will qualify if India loses the series.
Ahead of the key tournament, India are without their premier batsman, Ajinkya Rahane. After heroics in Border Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, Ajinkya Rahane has lost form and it cascaded into him, losing his spot from the national team. India will play with jittery nerves in the absence of Shreyas Iyer.
As Ajinkya Rahane is looking for his way back to the Indian team, the right-handed batsman is looking at various opportunities to play abroad. The English County Club, Leicestershire, has signed a player for the rest of the County season, as well as the Royal London Cup. The right-handed player will look to redeem himself, like how the Cheteshwar Pujara did at Sussex.
Reporting the news, one of the major news groups of the country, posted “Leicestershire rope in Test Discard Rahane”. Not only this irked the Indian fans but also the prominent commentators and analysts. Vikram Sathaye, a cricket humorist, posted the newspaper cutting with a tweet poking the news group to come up with a respectful headline.
“Leicestershire rope in Rahane” that’s it . Just a little more respect is what sportspersons want. I guess this gets more viral .

Replying to the tweet, Harsha Bhogle expressed his concern over the journalism. He tweeted:
“It makes me cringe.”

When the article was sent to publishing, in the third and deciding T20 international, India were at 187 for the loss of three wickets after 16.4 overs. Post the tournament, India will head to Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium to play the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
