Ahead of the Test Championship finals against Australia, India skipper Rohit Sharma spoke about the biggest highlights against the Aussies in the last few years. He also spoke about how Test cricket is important to him. He was speaking with Indian and Australian legends in a special segment on Star Sports.

While speaking about the challenge against Australia and memories he said, “The biggest highlight for us in the last few years has been winning in Australia, after losing the first Test, the way we came back, shown the depth, lots of youngsters stepped up. The last series we played in Australia was certainly our best away from home.”

He further spoke about the longest format of the game and its future. He said, “Test cricket stands at the top, it keeps challenging you as a leader & as a player you always look forward.” Notably, Rohit was accompanied by Ravi Shastri, Pat Cummins and others on the show.

I would have rated it more stable: Ravi Shastri

Speaking about the Indian bowling line-up former India Coach Ravi Shastri feels Australia is a more stable team than India. He said, “If Jasprit Bumrah was there in this bowling attack with Shami and Siraj, I would’ve said it’s stable compared to Australia.” Notably, India will miss their few superstars including Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant.

India is set to face Australia in the finals at the iconic Oval Cricket Ground in London from June 7. India will be looking to continue their dominance in the longest format of the game against Australia. They have clinched the last four Border-Gavaskar Trophies against Australia and have been phenomenal in this format.
