In their last encounter against Malaysia, India put on a magnificent batting display before the weather decided to ruin the fun. The T20 match had already been cut down to a 15-over per side contest, but the weather only allowed for two deliveries in the second inning.

Due to their higher international rankings, India, who had collected a staggering 173/2 in their allocated 15 overs, was ultimately proclaimed the winner. With clouds in the sky, there was less danger of rain interrupting the game, so the Indian team was hoping to duplicate their powerful batting display.

In the 2023 Asian Games semi-final match against Bangladesh, Smriti Mandhana served as the captain of India once more. This was because Harmanpreet Kaur is undergoing her two-game ban for a heated on-field altercation with the same opponents, she assumed the duty.

Smriti Mandhana as well as Shafali Varma were dismissed as they both attempted to up the ante. However, India still managed to hunt down the target in under 9 overs with the help of Jemimah Rodrigues. This win has helped the Indian side to reach the final and guarantee themselves at least a silver medal.

India would be hoping for a gold in their maiden Asian Games 2023 participation. They would be facing the winner of the other semi-final between Pakistan or Sri Lanka. Indian fans would be hoping they get to face their arch-rivals Pakistan in the final.
