After his ugly verbal spat with Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir had another with senior TV journalist, Rajat Sharma. Apparently, the latter gave out his opinion on the entire Kohli vs Gambhir fight that happened after the LSG v RCB clash. Sharma said that Gambhir, who became a Member of Parliament in 2019, has become arrogant. The TV journo added that it is quite apparent that Gambhir is jealous of Kohli’s success.

Addressing the quarrel between the two players he had said, “After winning elections and becoming the member of Parliament, Gautam Gambhir’s ego has increased. His jealousy towards Virat Kohli’s fame could be seen clearly. Virat Kohli is someone who always remains aggressive and doesn’t tolerate any nonsense and hence, he gave a befitting reply to Gautam Gambhir. But overall, Gambhir’s behaviour was against sportsmanship and it doesn’t suit a former player or a member of Parliament. Such incidents spoil the spirit of cricket and hence, this shouldn’t have happened.”

Man who ran away from Delhi Cricket is selling PR: Gautam Gambhir

Around a day after this, the former India opening batter called out Sharma without naming the latter. The two-time World Cup winner mentioned Sharma running away from Delhi and District Cricket Association citing pressure.

Gambhir wrote, “Man who ran away from Delhi Cricket citing “pressure” seems over eager to sell paid PR as concern for cricket! ??? ?????? ?? ???? ‘??????’ ???? ‘?????’ ????? ????”

Meanwhile, Sharma resigned from the post of DDCA president in late 2019. He cited chaotic affairs to such decision

“I resigned on 16 November from the post of President DDCA for the reasons stated in the letter. I however continued to honour the directions of the ombudsman and later reiterated by the High Court. However, the situation in DDCA is completely chaotic and I find it impossible to continue any further as President,” he was reported as saying by The Quint.
