Bollywood’s veteran actor Sunny Deol’s movie Gadar 2 has made history at the Indian box office. As per the latest reports, the bigwig film Gadar 2 has surpassed the box office collection of Bollywood’s King Khan starrer Shah Rukh Khan’s film Pathaan. This has made Gadar 2 the highest-grossing Hindi film in India. Yes, you have read that right! Gadar 2 has taken its throne at the number one place at the Indian box office. Fans of the Indian actor Sunny Deol have rejoiced and made the film trending on social media yet again.
Let us tell you, even after weeks of its release, Gadar 2 is still winning it big at the theatres. The shows are houseful and the Indians are in the wave of nostalgia. For the unversed, Gadar 2 is the much-awaited sequel to the massive blockbuster film Gadar. On Thursday, taking it to his official X handle (formerly known as Twitter) trade expert Taran Adarsh dropped the numbers and revealed the new record created by Gadar 2. This is the latest domestic box office figures of the Ameesha Patel and Sunny Deol starrer film.

Gadar 2 takes the first place in the highest-grossing films in India by collecting around 524.75 crore nett in India. Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan’s spy thriller action film Pathaan dominated that place for a long time. Pathaan was released at theatres worldwide on 26 January 2023. Since then, it has been the highest-grossing Hindi film in India despite various releases after that. However, Gadar 2 has now finally broken that record.
While sharing the numbers, Taran Tweeted, “Gadar 2 crosses lifetime business of Pathaan’s Hindi version [ ?524.53 crore] in India… Now the no. 1 highest-grossing film in Hindi in India. On the other hand, Jawan is inching towards the 600 rupees club. So far, the film has collected ?579.93 crore nett in all languages. For the unversed, Jawan was released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Jawan hit the theatres worldwide on 7 September 2023.
