History was created at the Gabba in Brisbane once again and this time it was the Caribbean giants who have done it. This was also the first Day/Night Test match that the Australians have lost as well on this day. The West Indies had chosen to bat first and things did not start well for them as they were pegged back by the Australian pacers early on at 64-5. However, it was Kavem Hodge and Joshua Da Silva who were there to get the West Indie out of trouble straight away with some great knocks in the middle and got them to a fighting total of 311. The West Indian pace attack replied well and had the Australians at 54-5, but Usman Khawaja, Alex Carey and Pat Cummins had other plans and reduced the lead of the West Indies to just 22 runs and declared on a score of 289.
The Aussie pacers once again came back into the match and got the Windies all out for just 193 runs and needed just 216 to win the game and the series. This was still looking like another victory for the hosts with Steve Smith and Cameron Green forming a great partnership in the middle. But this time it was the Shamar Joseph magic in the middle where he again impressed everyone with his amazing spell single-handedly going through this great Aussie batting lineup. This was the best spell bowled by a West Indies pacer on Aussie soil where he took 7/68 and was the hero West Indies needed.
The wrath of the Joseph’s
We cannot forget the effort of some of the Windies’ batters as well where the likes of Hodge, Da Silva and Kevin Sinclair played some great knocks to save the West Indies from another disaster, but it was the bowlers who were the real champions on the day. It was Alzarri Joseph who was the best bowler in the first innings taking 4/84 in 14 overs which caused a massive Aussie collapse with some great support from the experienced Kemar Roach who was also good on the day. However, it was Shamar Joseph whose spell completely brought the game in the West Indies’ favour. Both these bowlers combined took 14 wickets in the match and rattled the Australians at the Gabbatoir.
This was a match where the bowlers were the champions for the West Indies who finally looked like the champion side we knew from the past. This is also the first victory for them after more than 2 decades down under and this will be one of the moments they will cherish. The fortress has been breached again and this time by a young and spirited West Indies side who are still finding their feet in the international game. This is not only the greatest moment for the Caribbean, but also for the whole cricketing world who has witnessed this great Test match.

Incredible victory, extraordinary performance! Shamar Joseph, despite a broken toe, bowled a fiery spell. This triumph, a sequel to "Fire in Babylon," bodes well for the Windies' future. ???
