Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni is reported to be playing his last IPL. In the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023, he is leading his side and it is doing well after winning five out of nine games. Meanwhile, after the last-ball loss against Punjab Kings, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming was asked about Dhoni’s retirement after the ongoing season.

The former New Zealand skipper has denied the reports. On the other hand, the former India skipper, Dhoni has indicated the same in some of the post-match presentations. At this point, there is no clarity on the matter.

“No, he hasn’t indicated anything,” Fleming said when he was asked if MS Dhoni had told him anything about retirement to him.

It’s the last phase of my career: MS Dhoni

On the other hand, the wicketkeeper, a few games ago, said that the ongoing season is the last phase of his career.

“All said and done, it’s the last phase of my career, however long I play. After two years, the fans have had the opportunity to come here and watch, feels good to be here. The crowd has given us a lot of love and affection. Not getting enough chances to bat, but no complaints,” he had said.
