1) Steve Smith

Steve Smith’s career is one of the peculiar ones in the history of cricket. Smith burst onto the scene as a ‘wrist-spinner’ and was touted as the replacement of the great Shane Warne. But later in 2013, he was promoted up the order and where he began scoring heavily. His career was marred by a ‘ball-tampering scandal’ during a Test at Capetown in 2018. Following this, he was banned by Cricket Australia for a year.
Upon his return to international cricket in 2019, Smith wasn’t expected to perform like old times. He even faced the most hostile behaviour from the Edgbaston crowd during the first Ashes Test. However, he staged a comeback for the ages and scored twin hundreds in the Test taking his team to a memorable win. He further went on to score 774 runs in the series at an average of 110 with three hundreds and three fifties.
2) David Warner

David Warner also faced a year ban after the ball-tampering scandal in 2018. The entire world was rooting for his comeback as he returned to professional cricket with the Indian T20 League 2019 season. The Southpaw announced his comeback in style and won the coveted orange cap for being the highest run-scorer in the season. He further made a strong statement with his performance in the ODI World Cup 2019 where he plundered 647 runs and finished as the second highest run-getter of the tournament.
3) Dinesh Karthik

Having made his debut way back in 2004, Karthik could never cement his place in the Indian team. He kept shuffling in and out of the squad for the major part of his career. He was once again shown his way out of the team post the 2019 ODI world cup.
The wicketkeeper batter made a roaring comeback into the Indian side this year after having a successful season in the Indian T20 League. The 37-year-old also gave good performances in the Indian team upon his return. Karthik has almost sealed his place in the team ahead of Rishabh Pant. The Tamil Nadu player is expected to play the role of the finisher in the upcoming world cup for the team.
4) Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan is considered one of the greatest athletes of all time. Jordan took the bold decision of announcing his retirement from Basketball at the peak of his career in 1993 to pursue a career in Baseball. However, his career in Baseball couldn’t fetch him the same prestige that Basketball did. He decided to return to the court two years later in 1995. After years of being out of the game, MJ got his groove back on the court and helped the Bulls win three more NBA titles. It was like he never left.

Tiger Woods was the cynosure of the Golfing world from the late 90s to the early 2010s. Tiger had one of the most dramatic lives in sporting careers. He had an affair that led to divorce, infidelities, being arrested for driving under the influence, numerous car crashes, and countless injuries. All these events affected his career as Woods fell from the number one golfer in the world to a man with no idea if his life had a future on the golf course.
It’s said that the tough times are the biggest test for any sportsperson. Woods well and truly passed that test as in 2019, he won the Masters which was his first Majors win in 11 years. It has been a long, long road for Tiger but his greatest win, in life, was this incredible comeback.
