Find out why Shah Rukh Khan won’t appear on best friend Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan season 8

Shah Rukh Khan

One of the first guests on Karan Johar’s talk show Koffee with Karan in 2004 was Shah Rukh Khan.  However, he hasn’t made an appearance in the previous three seasons. For the first three seasons of Koffee with Karan, Shah Rukh Khan was a regular. He didn’t participate in the fourth season, but he came back to start the fifth. Host Karan Johar discussed whether Shah Rukh will be seen returning to Koffee with Karan Season 8 after skipping the previous two instalments in a recent interview with Pinkvilla.

Karan stated in the interview, “Shah Rukh is present, but he doesn’t seem to want to take centre stage. His silence is well-deserved. We should give him that as moviegoers and fans.”  Since his son Aryan Khan’s arrest in a drug case in 2021, Shah Rukh has not engaged with the media or made an appearance on talk shows. But last season, when his wife Gauri Khan appeared on the Koffee Couch, she talked about the struggles the family was facing at the time.

Shah Rukh Khan will be missed on the Koffee couch:

In 2004, Shah Rukh and Kajol, his co-star in three Karan Johar films, opened the first-ever episode of Koffee with Karan. In the second instalment’s season premiere, Rani Mukerji, their co-star from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, joined the two. Actually, Shah Rukh made three appearances on Koffee with Karan Season 1. Once, he and Gauri appeared in an episode that also included Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan, who were then a couple. In the season finale, he slept on the same couch as he visited with co-star Amitabh Bachchan from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

After going solo for Season 3, Shah Rukh began Season 5 alongside Alia Bhatt, his Dear Zindagi co-star. In response to his absence during Season 4, he made a joke about wanting the show’s TRPs to decrease. He was absent from Season 6 due to a reported disagreement with Karan, which was ultimately settled. The actor’s absence from Season 7 was explained by the filmmaker as a result of his true comeback this year with the release of Pathaan.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh will be featured in the first episode of Koffee with Karan Season 8, which will debut on Disney+ Hotstar on Thursday at 12 a.m.
