As many as 12 matches of the Emirates D20 League 2022 have been completed and the tournament is moving towards the second half. So far, only one team has won all of their matches, i e., Fujairah and Dubai is the only team who haven’t won a single game yet.
The upcoming 14th match of the tournament is going to be played between the bottom-placed Dubai and the fourth-placed Abu Dhabi. Dubai would be looking to get their first win, meanwhile, the Abu Dhabi team would be looking to move towards the top.
Let’s look at the important details about the upcoming important match.
Dubai: The Dubai team is currently without any points after having played first four matches. With zero wins in their bag, they languish at the bottom of the table and are the only team in the tournament to not have won any game. It is their bowling which bears much of the weight of their loss as they continue to get hit for runs. The Dubai team would also have to improve their batting and should look to breach at least the 150-run mark, something that they often fail to do.
Probable XI: Ronak Panoly (c), Rameez Shahzad, Ali Naseer, Harsh Bobade, Punya Mehra, Shamin Ali, Shaurya Singh, Shival Bawa, Shrey Sethi (wk), Ankur Sangwan, Muhamamd Farooq
Key Players: Ronak Panoly, Rameez Shahzad, Muhammad Farooq.
Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi recently lost their match to Sharjah despite making 164 runs, because of the lack of application in the bowling department. They were able to bring down just four of Sharjah’s wickets and gave away all the runs in just 17 overs. Abu Dhabi’s top-order batting also needs to fire in order to have any chance at qualification.
Probable XI: Ali Abid (c), Atta Ur Rahim, Ghulam Farid, Ethan D’souza, Kamran Atta(wk), Ghulam Murtaza, Fayyaz Ahmed, Zia Mukhtar, Nisar Ahmad, Sahil Hariani, Adnan Danish.
Key Players: Ghulam Murtaza, Kamran Atta, Muhammad Uzair Khan
Pitch Report: The International Academy pitch is becoming increasingly batting friendly as teams figure it out. There has been a rise in the average score at the ground since the first few matches were played. The temperature is expected to remain in the low 30s and the sky would be clear.
