‘Ek kaam karte hain footpath pe sojate hain’ – Fans react to people booking hospital beds in Ahmedabad amid inflated hotel prices during India vs Pakistan

India vs Pakistan is set to be a high-octance clash in Ahmedabad and fans have already started making arrangements for the same

Pakistan vs India

Due to the increased demand caused by the match between bitter rivals India and Pakistan on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, hotels in Ahmedabad are demanding about Rs 50,000 per night. Hospital administrators have noticed an increase in requests from fans looking to spend one or two nights at their facilities. For the fans, the bundle offers a profitable and more inexpensive arrangement. The package, which typically includes food, enables a “patient” to remain with one more companion.

After 2011, India will be hosting the ODI World Cup for the very first time. India won the 2011 World Cup in Mohali after defeating Pakistan in the semifinals and edging Sri Lanka at Wankhede in the final. In ODI World Cup matches, Team India have won all seven encounters against their arch-rivals and would look to bolster this record even further.

They are asking for a full-body check-up and an overnight stay: Dr Paras

Dr Paras Director of Sannidhya Multi Speciality Hospital spoke to Sportstiger about the increase in demand for hospital beds during the time of the World Cup clash. He said, “Since it’s a hospital, they are asking for a full-body check-up and an overnight stay so both of their purposes are fulfilled, saving money on lodging and getting their health check done.”

The hospital’s medical director spoke about how people are booking health check-ups and overnight stays during the time of the World Cup. He said, “We too are getting inquiries for 24-48 hours stays in our hospital, particularly around October 15, as we also have a full-body check-up package. This is due to the upcoming World Cup India-Pakistan match that is scheduled on October 15. Like at our hospitals, the situation seems the same in other city hospitals too. So, we are thinking about coming out with other health packages.”

Fans are anxious about missing the chance to witness India take on Pakistan during a World Cup contest live from the venue since it will be their first home match against Pakistan since 2016. Cricketing legends and icons from both teams including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Babar Azam, and Shaheen Afridi will all play in the match.
