India, having won the first T20I against England, locked horns with the English team in the second T20I on Saturday. With Virat Kohli, Jasprit BUmrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant introduced back into the team, questions were raised about Deepak Hooda’s exclusion. But the result spoke a tale of its own.
Winning the toss, England asked India to bat first. India, having won the last match with an aggressive batting approach, began the second game in the same fashion. Rohit Sharma (31 off of 20) and Rishabh Pant (26 off of 15) gave a great start to the visiting team. Wickets, however, started to fall after the skipper got out. But Ravindra Jadeja came up with a great knock of 46 off of 29 balls to take the Indian score to a respectable 170/8.
It was again the Indian bowlers who came up with sensational bowling to win the game for India. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, once again, impressed one and all with his swing bowling display and troubled the English top order on numerous occasions. He got out both openers, Jason Roy (0) and Jost Butler (4), with two peach of a deliveries and put pressure on the English side from the word get-go.
David Malan tried to steady the innings with sensible batting and made 19 off of 25 to restrict the fall of wickets. The trickery of Yuzvendra Chahal, however, got the better of him with Jasprit Bumrah removing Liam Livingstone (15) at the other end.
Moeen Ali (35) and David Willey (33) tried their best but could not do much as a resurgent Hardik Pandya removed the former and the latter was left alone at the other end.
India, it the end, won the game as England were all out on 121 runs and lost the game by a huge 49 runs. Harshal Patel removed the leg stump of Mathew Parkinson to give a thumping defeat to the England side.
Twitter was overjoyed with India’s series win and came up with heart-warming reactions. Let’s look at some of the best tweets:
England were seen as a dazzling side in white ball cricket. In past few weeks, there’s been a dramatic turnaround. Test performances have been brilliant, but in T20, as seen today, terribly mediocre. Strong all round from India. particularly the bowling, with Bhuvi outstanding!

Right, last cricket tweet for today. What a rushed and poor batting performance from England but well played India. I hope the ODIs are more competitive! (Don't worry I won't be live tweeting them as they're not on BBC!) #Sport #ENGvIND

Never underestimate the importance of captaincy in white ball cricket. England without Morgan and India under Rohit looks 2 completely different unit.

Ravi Shastri ( in commentary box) : " Rohit sharma is the most sensible captain in the franchise cricket as well as For India, He thinks one step ahead of what batsman thinks, he is always effective with the bowling changes too. " #ENGvIND
