Jasprit Bumrah travelled back home from Sri Lanka to Mumbai for the birth of his first child.
Jasprit Bumrah, the star bowler for Team India, won’t be able for the side’s Asia Cup 2023 game versus Nepal on Monday, September 4.Bumrah had reportedly left the Indian team’s training in Kandy and was already back in Mumbai, according to a report on News18. The main reason to leave the side ahead of their game was to be present with his wife Sanjana Ganesan as they welcomed their first kid into the world.
On Monday morning, he took to social media, to announce this wonderful news. He wrote, “Our little family has grown & our hearts are fuller than we could ever imagine! This morning we welcomed our little boy, Angad Jasprit Bumrah into the world. We are over the moon and can’t wait for everything this new chapter of our lives brings with it – Jasprit and Sanjana.”
Bumrah will only be absent from the match versus Nepal before returning to the team for the Super Four round of the continental competition. Mohammed Shami is a suitable backup for the forthcoming game, according to team management.

After being sidelined for 11 months owing to a back ailment, Bumrah finally returned to cricket this past month in the Ireland trip.He served as the captain of the inexperienced Indian squad during the three-match T20I series versus the Irish team, which India triumphed 2-0.
