India are currently facing Australia in four-match Test series for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023. India are leading the series by 2-0 after beating Australia in the first two Tests in Delhi and Nagpur. Meanwhile, star India batter KL Rahul, who is suffering from poor form, visited Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain.
Rahul, along with his wife, Athiya Shetty visits Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga ahead of third Test. The third Test is set to be played between March 1 and March 5 at Holkar Stadium in Indore. The Indian opener attended Baba Mahakal Ujjain’s 4 a.m. Bhasma Aarti. Along with this, the couple worshipped Baba Mahakal and prayed for each other’s well-being.
Notably, KL Rahul has been struggling with poor form in the longest format of the game. He has been consistently inconsistent with the bat and unable to justify his place in the team. He has scored runs at an average of 15.90 since his last century. In the last 10 innings, he has scored 8, 12, 10, 22, 23, 10, 2, 20, and 1 run, falling short of the 25-run threshold.
Captain Rohit Sharma and team management back KL Rahul
Despite continuous poor performance, the team management backs KL Rahul and has included him in upcoming Test and ODI matches. After the second Test, India skipper Rohit Sharma backed Rahul and said,
“Of late, there has been a lot of talk about his batting. But again, for us as team management, we always look at any individual’s potential, not just K.L., in the past. If the guy has potential, he will get an extended run, not just about KL, it’s anyone. If you look at a couple of hundreds he’s got in overseas, one of the best knocks was at Lord’s, batting on that damp pitch after losing the toss and putting in.”
Meanwhile, India chief coach Rahul Dravid also backed KL Rahul and said
“I think he needs to trust his processes. This is just a phase, he has been one of our most successful overseas openers.” However, fans reacted to KL Rahul’s recent visit to the Mahakal temple. A Twitter user wrote, “Musibaat mai Sabko bhagwan yaad aate hain.”

Tough times for him, when almost everyone is not only criticising him but sort of hating him. Wish him the best.
