The Delhi have been rocked by COVID-19 outbreak. After a few players and support staff persons, a family member of the team’s head coach, Ricky Ponting, has tested positive for Covid-19. The family members are in isolation at the moment.

The Delhi squad has been severely affected by the virus. Six members of the squad had previously tested positive, including Mitchell Marsh, Tim Seifert, and Patrick Farhart. Their previous encounter against Punjab was moved to Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai from Pune’s Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium to stop the further spread of the virus.
The Delhi team had a great outing against Punjab. In the first innings, Delhi restricted the Mayank Agarwal-led team to just 115 in the match. Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Lalit Yadav, and Khaleel Ahmed grabbed two wickets each. Mustafizur Rahaman also got one wicket in the game.
While chasing the total, Prithvi Shaw and David Warner gave them a perfect start. The two added 83 runs on the board before Shaw was dismissed on 41 runs in 20 balls in the seventh over. Warner (60) went to complete his half-century and win the match for Delhi in the 11th over.
The men in red and blue stand sixth in the points table, having played six games. They have played three games and lost as many games this season. They will play their next game against Rajasthan. Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai will host the match on the 22nd of April.
