BPL 2024: Shoaib Malik’s contract terminated after no-ball controversy snowballs

Barishal Fortune has decided to end its association with former Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik. The move comes days after the 41-year-old bowled three huge no-balls in a single over. Many fans wondered if there was something fishy taking place in the Bangladesh Premier League.

The decision to cut ties was made on Friday as there was a huge hue and cry. Tamim Iqbal and his side are currently sixth in the table with two wins from three games. Khulna Tigers are top of the table with four points from two games.

It has been a difficult few days for Shoaib Malik on and off the field. Just last weekend it was announced that Malik had gotten married for the 3rd time. Sana Javed and Shoaib Malik posed for pictures after getting married. Sania Mirza also revealed that she has divorced the cricketer and has been living separately for a few months.

News came out on Friday that former Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik will no longer play in the BPL 2024 season. Fortune Barishal has decided to cut ties with the all-rounder after a huge controversy took place.

Shoaib Malik came under the lens for delivering three huge no-balls during the last BPL encounter. The 41-year-old was hit for 18 runs in his only over of the game before he was taken off attack.

As per a tweet doing the rounds, the decision was made by the owner of Fortune Barishal. Many fans had called out Shoaib Malik for his actions after his three no-balls. There were speculations in social media if the matches in BPL 2024 were fixed.

After his marriage to Sana Javed, there has been massive speculation about his private life. According to news doing the round, many in Shoaib Malik’s household aren’t happy with his 3rd wedding.

With the 2024 T20 World Cup, Malik has stated his intention to make a comeback. Pakistan recently lost the T20I series against New Zealand by a 4-1 margin. This was the first series for Shaheen Shah Afridi as the new skipper of the Pakistani T20I team. It is to be seen what the future holds for Shoaib Malik.
