‘Bhajji full savage mode mei’ – Fans abuzz as Harbhajan Singh takes sly dig at MS Dhoni with witty tweet commemorating 10 years of Champions Trophy triumph

Harbhajan Singh continued his agenda of ‘team sport’ with another sly dig at MS Dhoni and his team that won the 2013 Champions Trophy in England. A Twitter user posted a photo of the Indian Team celebrating the triumph and captioned a lot of information about the individual record of key players of the tournament and finished it with an appreciation for MS Dhoni for leading the team so well throughout the competition.

Harbhajan, however, retweeted the same tweet with a clever caption, “India won the [Trophy Emoji] followed by an Indian flag.” The tweet created quite a buzz among fans on social media. Many fans understood the witty tweet. Notably, this is not a story developed today. Harbhajan was earlier spotted making a similar remark reminding fans that Cricket is a team sport and that the captain alone cannot win matches. This time, he took it a step further implying that the team is always over the individual.

Harbhajan Singh earlier lashed out at an MS Dhoni fan on Twitter

Earlier, after India’s disappointing loss to Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 final by 209 runs, a fan had posted a photo reminding MS Dhoni’s captaincy in the 2007 T20 World Cup. The fan wrote, “No coach, no mentor, young boys, most of the senior players denied to take part. Never captained any single match before. This guy defeated prime Australia in the semifinals and won a T20 World Cup in 48 days after becoming captain.”

In response, Harbhajan Singh quoted the same tweet with the caption, “Yes when these matches were played this young boy was playing alone from India.. not the other 10.. so alone he won the World Cup trophies .. irony when Australia or any other nation win the World Cup headlines says Australia, etc country won. But when the Indian wins it’s said the captain won it’s a team sport. Win together lose together.”

Notably, today, June 23, marks the tenth anniversary of India winning the final of the 2013 Champions Trophy against England by a meagre margin of 5 runs. India have since then, never won a major trophy. They would be looking to change that shortly as the ODI World Cup returns to India later this year.
