In the meantime, on November 15, 2022, all Indian T20 League franchises submitted their final list of retained and released players for the upcoming season. Earlier, fans were concerned that Andre Russell would be released by the Kolkata franchise for the upcoming Indian T20 League season.
However, the franchise has renewed its faith in the West Indies all-rounder for another season. Meanwhile, he did not represent the West Indies in the recently completed 20-20 World Cup in Australia. I think in the situation with Andre Russell, we’ve just decided to move on, and look for someone who’s in form, and doing well in the T20 format,” he said.
“I did not get any notice from Narine regarding his availability to play. There were conversations that the captain [Nicholas Pooran] was having with Narine, and from all reports, it seemed that he was not interested,” Haynes said when he was asked about mystery spinner Sunil Narine. Sometimes we have to move on and appreciate it when people come to us and explain their position to us, and if we agree, we give them a chance,” Haynes concluded.
