In the ongoing T20 Blast in England, Warwickshire beat Nottinghamshire by two wickets in a nail-biting thriller. In the North Group match at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, the hosts batted first and scored a competitive total of 168. Chasing 169, despite a first-over four-wicket haul from Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi, Warwickshire made a comeback and won the game.
Chasing 169, Warwickshire got the worst possible start. In the very first over, Pakistani pacer Shaheen Afridi clinched four wickets to create a new world record. On the first legitimate delivery of the innings, the Pakistani paceman dismissed Warwickshire skipper and wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Davies for a golden duck. Davies was caught in front of the wickets and declared LBW.
Afridi then removed Chris Benjamin on the second ball. Benjamin, like Davies, went out in search of a golden duck. He had a clean dish. Shaheen fell short of a hat-trick but he did take two more wickets on the final two balls of the first over. On the fifth ball, he removed Dan Mousley, who was caught by Olly Stone for one from two balls, and clean-bowled Ed Barnard for a golden duck on the next bowl.

Robert Yates scripted a historic comeback for Warwickshire
However, after that, Nottinghamshire never looked back in the game as Warwickshire made a great comeback. Opening batter Robert Yates scored a brilliant half-century and helped his team clinch the victory. Yates, in his innings, scored 65 runs off 46 balls with the help of five sixes and three boundaries. He was well supported by Glenn Maxwell, Jacob Bethell, and Jake Lintott.
Maxwell, in his innings, scored 19 runs off 12 balls with the help of two boundaries and a six. He, along with Yates, added 42 runs for the fifth wicket. After his departure, Yates got support from Bethell, who scored 27 runs off 21 balls. Both added 69 runs for the sixth wicket. In the end, Lintott’s 27-run innings helped Warwickshire create history.
Here is how fans reacted to Shaheen Afridi’s bowling performance:

Batting is below par. And the first wicket shows umpiring also is below par. Bowling was always below par.
