‘Bhai TV band karke soo jaa koi faida nahi’ – Frustrated India fans react on Twitter as Rishabh Pant shares Instagram story watching WTC Final

Australia scored 469 in their first innings with Travis Head and Steve Smith registering triple-digit figures

The eagerly anticipated World Test Championship (WTC) final between Australia and India began on June 7, 2023, at the Oval. Rohit requested that Australia bat first after choosing to bat first. They only lost three wickets for 327 runs on the first day. All day long, Indian bowlers were terrible.

They came up with a superior strategy on day two, though, as the Australians were bowled out for 469 runs. Mohammed Shami and Shardul Thakur each took two wickets, while Mohammed Siraj took four wickets. When Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill walked out to bat after that, all eyes were on them.

As such, India’s first-choice wicketkeeper batter Rishab Pant who is out injured after his terrible car accident back last year uploaded a story on Instagram where a TV screen playing the WTC Final indicated the star batter is following all action closely. Notably, KS Bharat is wearing the gloves for India and is the replacement for Rishabh Pant in the Playing XI.

India are struggling at 79/4 after 20 overs

Notably, the two openers got India off to a strong start, as they reached 30 runs without losing a wicket. However, Rohit was caught on the crease by Pat Cummins’ sixth ball of the sixth over. The Indian captain left cheaply as a result, having scored 15 runs off of 26 balls, including two fours.

Shubman Gill was then dismissed for 13 runs off of 15 balls, including two fours, in the subsequent over alone. Boland produced an inswinger on the fourth ball of the over, which Gill easily left. His off-stump was smashed by the ball, costing India their second wicket. India was suddenly in trouble at 30 runs for two wickets in just five deliveries.

As things stand, India are struggling after 20 overs of batting. They have only accumulated 79 runs and have lost two more wickets. Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli were the other two who were shown the way to the pavilion. Ajinkya Rahane and Ravindra Jadeja are out there in the middle trying to limit the embarrassment for India.
